Board of Education Seats New Member
|
After a process of seeking candidates for a recently vacated seat on the D124 Board of Education, a seventh member has officially been seated as a member of the board. Please welcome Dr. Michael Thomas to the D124 Board of Education.
Michael grew up in a suburb of Detroit, MI, and has lived in Illinois since 2004. His first experience with Evergreen Park happened when he began working as the science department chair at EPCHS in 2015.
He found the Village to be a wonderful community and a great place for kids so he and his family moved to the Southwest quadrant in 2020. He is passionate about education and creating a sense of community.
“As a teacher, I have always enjoyed education and learning how various things affect student growth and development,” said Michael. “My goals for being on the school board are to maintain the high quality of education families are used to in D124.”
Michael has a bachelor's degree in science education, a master's degree in educational leadership, and a doctorate in organizational leadership. In his free time, he enjoys running, playing sports, and having free time to take trips with his family.

Congratulations to CMS 8th Grade Graduates!
|
It is that time of year again! Today is the last day of school for our eighth graders and we are so proud of them. We will celebrate our amazing middle school graduates at graduation, and as always will be sad to see them go but excited to cheer them on in what comes next. These students have done some amazing things and have shown a resilience and dedication to helping and serving others that is so admirable.
While their time in our schools may be coming to an end, we know that they will continue to embody the #BeEvergreen spirit as they enter the next chapter of their lives and we are proud to have gotten to play a part in giving them the tools they need to succeed!
